The Reggae Bus, Launch day & sights of Barbados!....

Sights in Speightstown -  Street fruit sellers

We are half way through our wonderful trip to Barbados....

Its the hottest humid heat we have ever experienced on any holiday, the weather is quite unsettled possibly due to the Tropical Cyclone that was heading this way!  Fortunately it didn't hit us and all going very well so far.

Having chilled out for several days and with our tans heading in the right  direction of chocolate we  launched the website this morning and celebrated with a gorgeous cocktail a BBC - It is Baileys, Banana and Coconut cream.

The wifi then was virtually non existent post launch which was very frustrating! So we decided to venture out, leaving  the all inclusive luxury, to explore the Island a little.

We decided to take The Reggae bus out to a couple of the local towns.

It was hilarious!

Imagine the busy London bound rush hour commute but on a shonky clapped out old bus that has seriously only got options of manic speeding or stop dead. I was thrilled however that it had old fashioned windows that were all opened wide.

The thirty-five minute journey was enhanced or disrupted whatever your view point by the loudest amazing ancient reggae hits for the whole trip!....

Sights in Speightstown - A very pretty Pure white Church gleaming in the sunshine in Speightstown....

We absolutely loved it! We were surrounded by locals who had finished work, school children and the elderly.  The school children are immaculately turned out with perfect manners to match. Their school uniforms are wonderful, as colourful as this tropical Island - a myriad of bright lime green, purple and turquoise. Not a single sighting of dull grey or navy.

Though Hole town is beautifully it is extremely affluent, all  Breightling, Burberry and Hugo Boss stores. I did however find some gorgeous Bajan bits n bobs in a little tucked away place in Speightstown. I cant wait to get them photographed and onto the site when we get home.......
